Reactions and predictions to the debates


The campaign trail invaded Mississippi last Friday night and results were mixed. The first presidential debate, held at Ole Miss, was filled with highs and lows from both McCain and Obama. Each party came into the debate riding high off of the enthusiastic response from their respective convention success and many were unsure if either candidate delivered. Obama prevailed early in the debate, tackling the failing economy, while McCain succeeded later on in the evening, addressing issues of foreign policy. With the media up in arms as to the clear winner of the debate, do virgin voters think either candidate delivered what was promised? I thought the debates were really interesting but I was also upset that both candidates did not give a straightforward answer about what they would cut back on and delay in order to address the country's economic crisis.

It wasn't even a debate. McCain straight up lied the whole night, thus putting Obama on the defensive all the time. Smart tactic by McCain ... had he not tried to ditch the debate earlier in the week his post-debate coverage might have been more favorable.
