And we thought Al Gore invented the Internet?

Show's over, Al. You might be hailed by some as the inventor of the Internet, but step aside — John McCain invented the BlackBerry.

One of McCain's top economic advisers credited the Republican nominee Tuesday for creating the BlackBerry, or should I say CrackBerry, obsession.

The adviser, Douglas Holtz Eatin, in response to the crisis on Wall Street following the sale of Merryl Lynch and the Lehman Brother's claim for bankruptcy, held up his BlackBerry to show that McCain understands how the market works.

"You're looking at the miracle that John McCain helped create," Holtz-Eakin said while holding up a BlackBerry.

McCain aides have blown off the claim as a "boneheaded joke by a staffer," but the Barack Obama campaign was quick to call out the remark.

'If John McCain hadn't said that 'the fundamentals of our economy are strong' on the day of one of our nation's worst financial crises, the claim that he invented the BlackBerry would have been the most preposterous thing he said all week," said Bill Burton, an Obama spokesman.

I enjoyed this post. If Sen. John McCain doesn't know how to use the Internet, I highly doubt he had anything to do with the BlackBerry.

My grandma knows more about the BlackBerry than he does ... and they are both VERY old.

A link to the controversy surrounding McCain and the Internet may have been helpful to readers unaware of the recent accusations ... or truths.
