Podcasts of Note

When it comes to getting your election news, there are the obvious choices: TV, internet, radio. But there are also a myriad of podcasts out there just waiting to be downloaded to your computer and MP3 player. Here are some with an interesting spin on politics:

Yes, we're college students here at The Virgin Vote, so we take our politics with a pint of beer. Fortunately for us, so do Drunken Politics creators Jamie Kilstein (of Comedy Central) and Allison Kilkenny (of Alternet.org and the BEAST). A "show about politics for people who hate politics," this podcast is not for the faint of heart (or stomach).

Oh where would we be without MTV? No longer is it just Music Television, it's evolved into so much more. This podcast takes the best of MTV's Street Team reports and combines it into a weekly show. The Street Team is made up of 51 young citizen journalists who submit videos, blog posts and photos as they document this year's election. Of the youth, for the youth, by the youth.

This one's pretty straight-laced and straightforward, but interesting nonetheless now that debate season has started. CNN's Special Presidential Debate Edition takes highlights from Anderson Cooper 360 as they relate to the presidential debates. Since the first debate just took place Friday, be sure to subscribe so you can keep up as the debates keep coming.
