Today, Sarah Palin gave her first TV interview to Charles Gibson since becoming McCain's running mate. The main focus of the interview was foreign policy, and the discussion ranged from Russia to Iran and Israel.
On the topic of Israel, Palin faltered slightly, skirting around Gibson's directly worded questions. When Gibson asked her if she would back an Israeli attempt to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities, she replied, "We are friends with Israel, and I don't think that we should second-guess the measure that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security." When Gibson twice tried to rephrase the question, Palin only replied that she would not "second-guess" Israel's actions.
