Youth Vote Resources

Since this blog is halfway dedicated to the Youth Vote for the 2008 election, I thought it would be interesting to include some websites and blogs specifically dedicated to the youth vote. To find out what students around the country think about this election, click on some of the links below. Here's the roundup...

Youth Vote 2008
A site that covers the youth vote from college campuses nationwide. It features articles written and published in college newspapers by students reporting on the youth vote. Articles about what colleges are doing encourage students to vote and opinions on Sarah Palin are just some topics students are choosing to write about. The site is updated daily and includes an interactive map where you can click on your state and get the latest "youth vote" articles published in local college papers and on campus websites.

Rock The Vote
Rock the Vote is a website dedicated to encouraging youths to register to vote in the upcoming election. It is endorsed by many celeb musicians and you can hear their music on the site. It also has a helpful link to find out the voter registration deadline in your state. California is October 20th!! To make it that much easier, there is a link to register to vote online if your not already registered. The best part of this site is the Blog with the latest buzz on the election. It also follows the Rock the Vote tour bus and its locations throughout the country.

Ur Vote Counts
"Your votes count. Tell the country what the next generation thinks." That's the motto of this site which helps to break down the issues that matter to youth voters. Education, Environment, Health Care, National Security, Social Security, and War. The site provides basic facts on why each issue is a HOT topic in this election. You can click on the faces of the candidates to get their take on the issues. This site also has its own blog where student journalist can submit their work to be posted.

The Candidate Calculator
Since many of us youths are undecided in this election. Let the Candidate Calculator help you decide what candidate is right for you. You can rank the issues most important to you and the calculator will spit out a candidate that shares your views.
