Profile of Zoriah:
Zoriah is an award winning, internationally based photojournalist and war photographer with a background in disaster management and humanitarian aid to developing countries. His work appears in publications around the world such as Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, NPR, The BBC, ABC News, Elle and many others. Zoriah has worked in over fifty countries for at least as many clients, documenting crisis, conflict and disasters.

I am an independent photojournalist, funding all of my own projects. If you appreciate the work you see here and on my sites and are able to help, even with a small donation, you may do so through the donation page on my websites below.

Why this is good UGC: Zoriah is an independent journalist who freelances his work and does a lot of photography in Iraq. This is a poignant photo that reflects the immediacy and gravity of the moment.

Profile of Yan Zhang:
Why I just can't stop shooting in every single day, because:

BUSINESS-I am a news photographer in Wahington, DC, US, working for 1.3 billion readers, which equals to 1/4 population of this planet.

PLEASURE-I love walking around and shooting those waderlusts as my diary.

Basically I think photo is an effective way to express myself.

Why this is good UGC: This photo captures the spontaneity of the moment, right when the family walks out together. The flag barely misses the central figures of the photo, which lends credibility to the photo.

Profile of Kara:
Kara is a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara now working as a photographer's assistant in Los Angeles.

She spends part of her time working freelance and on personal projects.

Her Twitter feed can be followed at www.twitter.com/karaleung

Why this is good UGC: This is a raw photo, meaning composition was not the primary photo. The amateur look of the photo and the perspective of looking at their backs gives this a very unedited appearance.
