"We have come to the end of a long journey," announced John McCain in Arizona, as he took the podium in Arizona. When he mentioned that he called Obama to congratulate him, the audience boo'ed loudly. McCain stands steadfast in his concession speech, talking graciously and powerfully amidst cheers from the the audience. As he stated, "Senator Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and for his country. I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help lead us through the many challenges we face....I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger country then we inherited." I found his speech to be strong and gracious, giving hope to many of his supporters and to the country as a whole.

That picture of McCain is heartbreaking. I'm an Obama supporter, but I can't imagine how McCain must feel right now.
