As the poll above indicates, 61% support the Obama-Biden ticket, as opposed to the 32% who prefer the McCain-Palin ticket. However, the results also indicate that Obama's voters are more likely to be certain about their vote than McCain's. The percentage of young voters polled that are certain about their Obama vote is more than double the percentage of those who are certain about their vote for McCain.
The next poll asked respondents to think about certain characteristics and how they apply to each of the presidential candidates. Obama, who is 24 years younger than McCain, leads in all of the categories. Young Voters feel that he better understands issues facing people our age, and find him to be more inspiring and optimistic about the country's future. The two candidates come closest in the "strong and decisive leader" category, though Obama still leads in the category by 10%.
The poll above assesses a highly-contested question in the upcoming election -- experience and qualification. 57% of the young voters polled feel that Obama has enough experience to be president, and 59% believe that Joe Biden is qualified to serve as president if necessary. On the contrary, only 32% feel that Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president -- 55% feel that she is not qualified. However, nearly 60% of those polled do not think McCain is too old to be president. Note: This poll was conducted before the October 2nd Vice Presidential debate.
The last poll asked more personal questions of the respondents regarding who they would rather spend their time with in more intimate settings. A majority of 18- to 29-year-olds would choose Obama over McCain as a teacher, boss, drinking buddy, or advisor. However, a greater percentage of those polled would rather read McCain's private diary than Obama's, perhaps because of his interesting life story and experiences in Vietnam. While this last poll may seem trivial, Gallup proposes that likeability can be a key indicator of who young voters are likely to vote for.

I found the section on which candidate you would rather...very interesting. I also agreed with all of the majority-in-favor outcomes. I would for sure rather work for Obama (more holidays) and for sure rather read McCain's diary (better gossip).
