Supreme Court Passes on Challenge to Obama's Eligibility

The Supreme Court has tossed a lawsuit claiming that Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen. A small but significant group of people have continued to argue that Obama is not eligible to be president because his father was Kenyan, which was a British protectorate at the time, meaning Obama would have had dual citizenship — and thus not been native-born, as required in the Constitution.

The court's refusal to hear the case means the minimum four justices did not deem it worthy of review. But despite the court's ruling, there continues to be significant concern among some bloggers about Obama's eligibility.

One supporter is Bob Schultz, who heads "We the People Foundation" and has posted numerous documents on his website that argue Obama should not be president under legal grounds. According to Politico, several conservative radio commentators have also helped pedal the rumor, including Michael Savage, Brian Sussman, Lars Larson, and Mark Davis.

Though Schultz and others insist Obama continues to hoax the American people, the issue was mostly put to rest by major media outlets in June when the Obama campaign released a digital image of Obama's birth certificate. Hawaii's director of public health later deemed the images authentic.
